I want to express my greatest thanks for the excellent roofing, siding replacement, ADA hand rail, and concrete work you performed. Kaiser Permanente and PG&E were very pleased with your work. The planning and execution of the job was very evident and the workmanship cannot be matched. I have and will continue to recommend Airtight Construction.
TRACY CA – USEFUL INFORMATION
Tracy, CA is the 2nd most populous city in San Joaquin County. The city was literally put on the map with the arrival of the Central Pacific Railroad in 1869. Running from Sacramento to Stockton, it opened up the area known as Altamont Pass to development. Railroad shops, a roundhouse, hotels and restaurants opened for the feeding of railway workers, passengers and eventually settlers for the Tracy area.
In 1878 a new rail line was created that led to the founding of Tracy proper on September 8th, 1878. The city was named Tracy after Lathrop J. Tracy, a railroad director and local grain merchant.
The railroad remained the center for employment and economic expansion for many years. Incorporated in the year 1910, the railroad began to decline and its influence on the city waned. Agriculture replaced it as the economic center for the town and remains important even today.
The city seal of Tracy represents both the importance of being a railroad town and being a hub of agriculture. Today, Tracy is becoming more important with the widening of the Altamont Pass freeway and the building of warehouse distribution centers for major companies such as Amazon.
Housing remains relatively affordable by bay area standards, and there are both new construction and existing housing available for the influx of residents looking for both.
